pray, for the love of people everywhere, pray

wafa is at work this morning. she is shaken. she is choked up. i am crying with her. she finally spoke with family this weekend. her family is safe...barely. they sleep in one spot and move to another during the day. her brothers shop has been destroyed. he cannot speak. where they live is an area that is being heavily bombed. her husbands family lives in another area where they are being heavily bombed. she fears this will create monsters. civilians so angry from the lack of attention and outrage from North America. i don't know how to comfort her. her family tells her stories of civilians being targeted. they tell her stories of people being told to move to another area, and as they do they are targeted with bombs. she speaks of things i don't read or hear in the news. she tells stories no one else is telling. she speaks of fear of a massacre, of an army marching into her country and killing all they see. it has happened before. i'm so touched by this war. i ask all of you to please pray (if that's your thing) for wafa and her family in Lebanon. or write letters in objection to our canadian support of the violence taking place.
